The Gold Bar

The Peacock Inn, which is the only pub in the picturesque village of Chelsworth, is said to date back to the 14th century. Its Gold Bar features traditional beams and a log burner to warm those winter nights – giving it that old country feel. Evidence from the wood carvings seen in the Gold Bar and the restaurant prove the pub to be the oldest dwelling in the village .

The Gold Bar offers an extensive range of wines, guest ales and local beers such as Adnams, Greene King IPA, Old Speckled Hen and Woodfordes Wherry – voted “ Champion Bitter of Britain” by a panel of brewers, beer writers and journalists, at the Great British Beer Festival in London.

With cosy corner seating and stunning country views from the bar window – the Gold Bar is the ideal place to meet old and new friends.

“Our aim is to provide a relaxed atmosphere where staff are friendly and attentive. Our customers have travelled far and wide to enjoy the beauty of the village and at the same time taste the local beers and produce”
